We are building a single control plane that sits on top of multiple HR vendor systems and gives employees one place to handle general HR, recruitment, expenses, and other services while HR teams continue to work in the vendor platforms they already use. As an AI Control Engineer you will be a core engineer on that platform, owning the orchestration layer that ties agentic, LLM-driven workflows to the underlying vendor services. You will design and implement the orchestration and API layers, create agent-native experiences so employees can complete HR tasks conversationally, and define the cross-system permission model. Success in this role looks like reliable long-running workflows that coordinate multi-step operations across vendors, clear internal API contracts, and conversational flows that let employees complete tasks without jumping between portals.
- Strong Python experience and demonstrable production use of FastAPI (building, testing, deploying APIs). - Should have hands on or strong concepts knowledge about AWS Bedrock - Experience designing and implementing permission and authorization models across services and integrated third-party systems (RBAC/ABAC, scoped tokens, or similar). - Hands-on experience building agent-native or LLM-powered products (integrating LLMs or agents into user flows, handling prompts, responses, and safety/guardrails). - Experience operating services on AWS (deploying and running services, managing IAM and observability for production systems). - Experience building and maintaining services that integrate multiple vendor/SaaS APIs and expose consistent internal contracts (handling retries, idempotency, errors). - Experience designing or implementing long-running workflow orchestration/coordination that spans multiple systems (temporal-style workflows, durable tasks, or equivalent). - Comfortable working across the stack: API and workflow layers through to employee-facing UI or closely collaborating with frontend teams.
- Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration frameworks such as Temporal, AWS Step Functions, or Airflow. - React experience or direct experience building conversational UIs. - Prior experience integrating third-party SaaS/vendor APIs at scale (pagination, rate limits, webhooks, and tenancy concerns).
