Macq - Temporal

EngineeringHydrabadfull-time

About the role

Join our team. We are building something great. As a Macq - Temporal engineer at Hireloop you will help design and implement native agentic workflows using Temporal, build the Python backend services that run those workflows, and contribute to the React.js interfaces that surface workflow state and control. You will work on end-to-end behavior: workflow definitions and activities, backend APIs, and the observability needed to operate long-running, asynchronous processes. Success in this role looks like reliable, well-instrumented workflows running in production: clear retry and error-handling semantics, low operational overhead to diagnose failures, maintainable Python code for activities and services, and React components that let teammates inspect and control workflows quickly and safely.

Requirements

- Proven experience developing production backend services in Python, including use of asynchronous programming patterns (e.g., asyncio or equivalent) and writing well-tested code. - Practical experience designing and implementing Temporal workflows and activities in production, including handling retries, failures, and workflow upgrades/versioning. - Experience building and integrating React.js front-end components with backend APIs to display and control workflow state. - Strong understanding of asynchronous and concurrent programming patterns, task scheduling, and coordination of long-running processes. - Experience instrumenting services for observability: capturing metrics, structured logs, and distributed traces and using them to diagnose workflow issues. - Demonstrated experience debugging distributed systems and resolving workflow-related failure modes such as timeouts, duplicate executions, and state drift. - Experience writing automated tests and CI pipelines for workflow-driven systems (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests).

Nice to have

- Experience deploying and operating services on AWS. - Prior work on agentic or autonomous workflow/orchestration systems (e.g., multi-step agents, planner-executor patterns). - Familiarity with Temporal SDKs in other languages (Go, Java) or experience contributing to workflow libraries and tooling.
